The Triple Gold Club will be formally recognized. This group consists of players who have won the top three prizes hockey can offer: Stanley Cup, Olympic gold, World Championship gold. Click here for the complete list.
The IIHF will formally acknowledge the Victoria Skating Rink in Montreal as the birthplace of hockey. The first game was played there on March 3, 1875, and a plaque will be placed on the site during the IIHF's annual Congress at the end of the 2008 World Championship in Quebec City and Halifax.
